We are a group formed of mostly Phds and Post docs. We come from different countries. We meet regularly monthly. We cook something from our culture and share it with everyone in the meeting. We eat, speak, sing and dance with each other. We usually meet at one of the participants houses. If you are interested to join us, please send us an email telling us more about you. Science Beer
Science|Beer is the gathering of scientists and science lovers, from various backgrounds and major, in a cozy and friendly environment.
Each Science|Beer hosts at least one Science|Brewer.
Science|Brewers present their research topic in 10 minutes and at the end they describe one of the challenges which they currently face.
The described challenge establishes a good starting point for the diverse group of audience to start communicating with each other and the Science|Brewer.
There are some other guidelines which we follow:
SicenceBeer is a monthly event.
It happens in a non-academic environment e.g., in a café.
Everyone can be a Science|Brewer.
The Science|Brewer uses only the old school methods e.g., chalk and blackboard.
Every Science|Brewer automatically joins the Science|Brewery club.
The presentation should be understandable for scientists from all disciplines.
And last but not least, the entrance is free for everyone.
Do not forget that beer is only a symbol, an analogy, and a tribute to the German culture. Otherwise we drink all sort of drinks during each Science|Beer.

In Leipzig gibt es einige sehr schöne Seen. Verbringen wir einen Tag am Ufer eines der berühmten Seen im Süden von Leipzig, Markkleeberg. Lassen Sie uns an seinem Ufer etwas essen, vielleicht etwas grillen, vielleicht etwas Volleyball spielen, oder schwimmen, oder einfach nur sitzen und genießen oder wandern, was auch immer wir tun möchten.

In Leipzig, there are some very nice lakes. Lets pass a day on the shore of one of the famous lakes in south of Leipzig, Markkleeberg. Lets have something to eat on its shore, maybe grill something, maybe play some volleyball, or swim, or just sit and enjoy or hike around, whatever we would like to do.

Sächsische Schweizwanderung
Die Sächsische Schweiz ist eine der Ikonen in Sachsen. Viele merkwürdige und interessante Felsformationen, schöne Landschaften, die sich durch die Elba südlich von Dresden erstrecken. Wir starten von der Stadt Wahlen banhof in Richtung Süden bis zum Bad Schandau banhof oder sogar schmilka. Die Tour kann verlängert oder unterbrochen werden, wann immer wir uns entscheiden. Sie könnte nur 9 km bis zu mehr als 25 km betragen.

Entfernung: ab 9 km bis über 25 km, die Tour kann jederzeit angehalten und die S-Bahn zurück benutzt werden.
Sächsische Schweiz is one of the icons in Sachsen. Many strange and interesting rock formations, beautiful landscapes extending through the Elba river in south of Dresden. We start from Stadt Wahlen banhof going south up to Bad Schandau banhof or even schmilka. The tour could be extended or stopped whenever we decide. It could be just 9 km up to more than 25 km.

Jeden Freitag treffen wir uns ab 8:00 Uhr im Cafe 14 um uns über aktuelle Themen auszutauschen, gemütlich miteinander zu frühstücken oder auch nur ein Kaffee zu trinken. Kommt einfach mal vorbei.

Mittweida-Kriebstein wanderung
Der Fluss Zschopau fließt durch Sachsen und führt unter anderem durch Mittweida und Kriebstein und fließt schließlich in die Mulde. Zwischen Mittweida und der Talsperre Kriebstein durchquert er auf etwa 10 km eine wunderschöne Landschaft an seinen beiden Ufern.
Wir starten in Mittweida und laufen immer auf und ab entlang der Zschopau bis wir die Talsperre Kriebstein erreichen. Dabei wollen wir nicht nur die schöne Natur genießen, sondern auch das gute Wetter und die ausgeglichene Wanderatmosphäre. Zurück geht es dann entspannt mit der Fähre von der Talsperre zur Aue Mittweida (ca. 2.5 km vom Technikumplatz entfernt).
Wer eher die sportliche Herausforderung mag kann natürlich auch den Weg zurück auf der andern Seite der Zschopau nehmen (in Summe ca. 25km)
Jeder Forscher ist herzlich eingeladen mitzuwandern. Eure Familien mit Kinder und Freude können uns gerne begleiten.

Entfernung: ca. 13 km in eine Richtung

The river Zschopau flows through Saxony and passes through Mittweida and Kriebstein, among others, and finally flows into the Mulde. Between Mittweida and the Kriebstein dam, it crosses a beautiful landscape on its two banks for about 10 km.
We start in Mittweida and walk up and down along the Zschopau until we reach the Kriebstein dam. Thereby we do not only want to enjoy the beautiful nature, but also the good weather and the nice hiking atmosphere. We then return relaxed with the ferry from the dam to the Mittweida meadow (approx. 2.5 km from the Technikumplatz).
If you prefer a sporty challenge, you can of course also take the way back on the other side of the Zschopau (in total approx. 25 km)
Every researcher is welcome to join the hike. Your families with children and friends are welcome to join us.
